Pricing Note: A fully rigged and outfitted RF-246 Sedan Cruiser (with an integrated electronics suite) typically prices out around $150,000. At that price most folks have a ready-to-cruise boat with niceties such as a forced-air furnace, anchor windlass, cockpit hardtop, dinghy davit, and an integrated electronics package with GPS, chartplotting, fish finder, digital radar, and autopilot. Main power at this price level would typically be a pair of Honda BF135 engines.
The hull is in the neighborhood of $100,000 when it arrives at our location from the Rosborough factory; this includes the most common factory installed options and transportation. It is certainly possible to reduce the price of the hull by leaving off some options but I'd rather cite typical "real world" prices based on what most customers have chosen.
The next step is to add the cost of power; typically in the $20,000 to $25,000 range although a very conservatively powered boat (e.g. a single Honda BF150) would take the price down to $15,000 or so.
Most customers have added between $15,000 and $25,000 in additional accessories and electronics to the base RF-246. This includes quite a long list such as a furnace, cooktop, windlass, dinghy davit, inverter, water heater, canvas, and of course, electronics (and much, much more).
I don't want to dash anyone's hope of RF-246 ownership but once the hull is settled on and power chosen there are no really big numbers left to play with. No one (so far) has chosen not to have any electronics and even if you chose the least expensive items you'd typically save less than half the cost of the typical system which changes the bottom line pricing on the boat less than 5%. Money is money, and it's important but folks would rather not hamper the capabilites of the boat (and its systems) to save such a small percentage of the cost of the boat.
I think we could put together a very simple RF-246 for perhaps $115,000 to $120,000 by choosing very few factory options, powering with a single engine, and keeping the electronics package very basic.
