Nissan Marine
began their N. American operations in 1984 in Memphis, Tennessee as a
division of Nissan Industrial Equipment Co. Over the next 6 years, the
Marine Division experienced explosive growth and in 1991 Nissan
Marine was separated from Nissan Industrial Equipment into a standalone
company. Nissan Marine and moved their headquarters to their present
location in the Dallas, Texas area.
To meet the demands of
today’s boaters, Nissan Marine has begun introducing their low emission,
fuel-efficient four-stroke outboards. In their quest to continually
provide products using the latest technology, Nissan Marine has
introduced a new line of fuel injected, low emission outboards to
match the demands of the future marine market.
At E.Q. Harbor Service we have primarily concentrated our
efforts on four-stroke engines, believing this technology best fit the type of
boating and boats that are prevalent in the Puget Sound region. Nissan
was our first deviation away from that philosophy when we brought in the 8 and
9.8 horsepower Nissan 2-strokes in 1999. These engines offered an
outstanding mix of horsepower, light weight and very competitive pricing.
We used the as a superb choice for 12 and 14-foot aluminum skiffs.
As the Nissan line has grown we've added more of their
4-strokes to our in-stock line up; Nissan has discontinued the NS8 and NS9.8
2-stroke engines. For several years now the little 4, 5 and 6 horsepower
engines have been selling well and have proven to be very tough (the
reputation Nissan has carried for years). The introduction of the
lightweight NSF8 and NSF9.8 4-stroke engines once again gives us a nice engine
for small skiffs and inflatable boats (and great kicker motors for larger
craft).
Please visit the very nice Nissan Marine web site for
specific information on each engine; I can't replicate it here any better.
We're currently stocking the following sizes of 4-stroke Nissan engines: 4, 5,
6, 8, 9.8, 15, and 18. Please give us a call toll-free at 866-679-4783
and we'll be happy to provide further information and pricing.
